Six handmade games, one softly glowing glade

Glowcapglade is a little woodland arcade we built ourselves, line by line. Merge glowing tiles up a ladder of thirteen treasures, hop a frog over toadstools, turn cards in the moss, piece together painted clearings, chip lanterns loose with a firefly, or hunt for hidden words. Every game opens instantly and remembers your best.

Glowcap Merge

Glowcap Merge is the game we play when the kettle is on. Slide the whole board, let matching tiles meet, and watch a humble fern climb towards the moon-orb at the very top of the ladder.

13 tiers from fern to moon-orb4x4 board or Wide glade 5x5One Undo in every game

It looks gentle, and it is, but the thinking runs deep. Every slide moves every tile at once, so a careless swipe can scatter a tidy corner you spent ten moves building. A fresh fern pops in after each move, now and then a bluebell instead, and the board slowly fills. Points arrive with every merge and double as you climb the rungs. Underneath the board sits a ladder strip of all thirteen icons, dim until you reach them, so each new tier feels like adding a treasure to a shelf. Play on the classic 4x4 board or switch on Wide glade for a roomier 5x5.

Six games growing under the same canopy

Each game here started as a sketch on our studio table and ended as something we argue about over lunch. Two ask for steady hands, two ask for a calm head, two sit happily in between. Read the cards, peek at the feel profile, and pick whichever matches your mood today.

Slide the whole board, let twin tiles meet, and climb a ladder of thirteen woodland treasures from a humble fern to the shining moon-orb. A ladder strip under the board lights up each tier as you reach it, and one Undo per game forgives a single wobbly swipe.

Lantern Breaker

Steer a leaf-shaped wooden paddle, bounce a glowing firefly and chip through twelve handcrafted walls of rounded bricks. Lantern bricks take two hits and light up when struck. Catch falling power-ups for a wider leaf, twin fireflies or a slower glow, and keep all three frog lives safe.

Face-down cards hide the glade’s animals: frogs, foxes, otters, owls, hedgehogs and more. Flip two at a time and remember where everyone lives. Six levels grow from a gentle 3x4 grid to a demanding 6x6, with stars for matching in few moves and every level saved as you go.

How the glade gets made

The way we build every game in the wood

We are a small studio, and every one of these games is our own plain code, drawn and tuned by hand. A few rules guide us from the first sketch to the last sparkle, and they are the reason the glade feels the way it does.

01

Skill does the climbing

Your score comes from what you do: the merges you plan, the jumps you time, the pairs you remember. Where something is random, it shapes the layout, such as which tile appears next or where a piece lands at the start. It never hands out a surprise reward. Points, stars and personal bests are the whole story.

Your progress lives with you

Best scores, unlocked levels and finished puzzles are saved quietly in your own browser. There is no account to make and nothing to sign. Come back next week on the same device and the glade remembers where you left your lantern, which pictures you finished and how many stars you gathered on each level.

Fair from the very first round

Difficulty rises gently and honestly. Firefly Hop always spaces its obstacles so they can be cleared, Lantern Breaker lets you steer with the paddle, and word grids shrink sensibly on a phone. We play every level ourselves until it feels tricky in a good way, never in a cheap one.

Gentle rampsClear rulesTested by hand

Funded by the joy of making things

Glowcapglade is a labour of love from a small team who simply enjoy building cosy games. The pages are clean, the games load straight onto the stage, and nothing nags you between rounds. We design for the moment you lean back and smile at a finished jigsaw, and we keep the glade tidy so that moment arrives without interruption.

Match the game to the mood

Things visitors ask Bramble most

We did. Glowcapglade is a small studio, and all six games are our own plain JavaScript, drawn and tuned in house. The animals, icons and painted scenes belong to the glade too, so you will spot Bramble’s neighbours turning up across different games, from the fox in Glade Pairs to the toadstools in Firefly Hop.

Nothing at all. Every game loads straight into the page and plays in a modern browser on a computer, tablet or phone. Open a game, press the big Play button on the start screen, and you are away. Fullscreen and a restart button sit just above the stage whenever you want them.

Your personal bests, unlocked levels and stars are stored in your own browser on the device you play on. There is no account to create. If you clear your browser data or switch to a different device, the glade starts fresh, so think of each device as its own little notebook of achievements.

Yes. Every game page has a sound toggle above the stage. When it is on, the games play short, soft synthesised blips for merges, matches, catches and jumps. When it is off, everything works exactly the same in peaceful silence, which is how plenty of us play late in the evening.

They are built to be friendly for the whole family. The words in Fernword Search are everyday English, the characters are gentle woodland animals, and nothing in the glade is frightening. Younger players often start with Glade Pairs or a 12-piece Mossy Jigsaw, then graduate to the bigger grids.

All six adapt to narrow screens. Glowcap Merge is lovely with swipes, Firefly Hop needs just one thumb, and Fernword Search switches to a 9x9 grid with shorter words. The 96-piece jigsaw is happiest on a bigger screen, simply because the pieces need room to spread out.

We are always sketching. For now we would rather polish six games until they shine than rush a seventh, so expect small improvements to these first. If you have an idea for a woodland game, or a word pack theme you would love to see, the contact page reaches us directly.
